How Can You Simplify?

We do our best to keep up: we take supplements, we do our breathwork, try this and that diet, reach out for the latest genetic testing, seek out alternative therapies for ultimate health and embrace and soak in the daily deluge of viral online content. And yet our collective health is deteriorating. My question is: in the most health-obsessed society ever, why is all not well?

My honest opinion gravitates to one word: simplicity.

In a world obsessed with gadgets, biohacking (i’m still unsure what that word even means) and the latest diet, I honestly think we’re losing touch of what it means to be human and leaning too far away from the basics.

Thoughts on simplifying:

Instead of focusing on buying the latest expensive vitamin supplement, ask yourself: am I eating a range of good quality vegetables and protein? supplements support a diet, not replace a diet.

Instead of buying the latest blue light blocker glasses: could we simply reduce our screen time an hour before bed?

Instead of ‘biohacking’ our way to better health: can we not just prioritise sleep, movement and hydration for a healthier day?

A strong, stable and durable house is built with a strong foundation first and then the accessories built after: windows, doors, a nice hallway. Not the other way around.

Sleep, whole foods, a purpose, moving a little everyday, quiet time and connection with humans is our foundation. The rest is complimentary.
